I'm entering my junior at Rutgers and I have a 2.895 gpa (horrible I know). I just finished shadowing a Neurosurgeon that's a DO who went to my dream school Rowan SOM...I also am very involved and a part of Pre SOMA at Rutgers and have very good community service such as medical missions abroad in the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua and raising money for cancer societies and training soccer camps. Planned on taking my MCAT in the summer going into my senior year but now I'm worried that if I apply later that I will worry my chances of getting into Rowan. Someone help!!

Not good with your GPA... you want that GPA to be >3.2 and score well (27+) in the mcat. You can increase your GPA thru grade replacement.

So should I just focus on my gpa before I plan on taking the mcat? I'm just getting into orgo this year and finishing Physics (I got a B+ in physics 1) and was planning on taking it next summer...would it be smarter to see if my gpa can improve this year and take mcat sometime my senior year?

+1. OP get the GPA up first, I agree. Also getting better grades will make you more confident once you prep for the MCAT 🙂. You can do it!
