cGPA: 3.90
MCAT: 504 (128,124,126,126 1st attempt), 502 (128,123,126,125 second attempt)
Canadian

I was wondering how much my MCAT score will hurt me considering it dropped after the second attempt. Should I write it again ? Just really not sure what to do at this point considering I studied even more for my second MCAT. Any input is appreciated! Thank you

Your MCAT is fine for DO (since you went down I wouldn't take it again), your gpa is really good (assuming your sgpa is around the same)..assuming you have some shadowing and volunteering

I don't know how many schools let in Canadians, so ironically thats probably your biggest issue

Are you considering this cycle or the next one? I'd probably wait until May 2017.

EDIT: I would agree with the above poster. Don't retake the MCAT. You should get some love from DO schools.

A Canadian MD degree would be a much better choice. But it looks like you may have max'ed out your MCAT scores. If you think you can significantly improve your scores by taking a formal MCAT review class, I would try that. If significant MCAT improvement seems to be unachievable, use the search function on this site to identify US DO programs which take international students.

...As an illustrative example, here is a related thread from 2008. Look for a more updated one.

I e-mailed every DO school and the following were accepting international students for Fall 2008: UNECOM, PCOM, PCOM-GA, MSU-COM, VCOM, LMU-DCOM, DMU, KCUMB, TCOM, Western, TOURO-NY, ATSU-KCOM, NYCOM, PCSOM, AZCOM, NSU, CCOM.
Good luck!
I just noticed KCUMB asked EhCdnGirl for a green card. They never asked me for a green card. My application is still active over there by the way. It's strange.

Canadian MD will be difficult because of my MCAT, and I did take a formal review course :/ just not working out lol. Thanks for input and the list! I'll be sure to check which schools will accept Canadians.

Thanks! and yeah I'm thinking to apply in 2017.

Yeah I have shadowing but only under an MD as DOs are hard to find in Canada. I have extensive volunteering and work experience in health care settings (~450 hours) so hopefully that will help with my application
