I'm finishing off my undergrad next semester but I am still trying to decide whether I should apply to a post-bacc program for my gap year or just to take the time to do medical related work or research. My current stats are:
- 3.39cGPA,
- 3.36sGPA,
~700 patient care hours. 50 shadowing, 100 community service, 2 years research experience

I messed up my freshmen year, and without those grades I would have a 3.48cGPA. I am just looking for options for what to do during my gap year before I apply. I haven't taken the MCATs yet so I don't really know where I'll stand for that. But with my current stats should I spend the time doing a masters program/post bacc or just take the gap year to focus on studying for the MCATs and working? SOS help please!

The GPAs are weak for MD schools, but fine for DO. Having a 3.48 without them is still weak, but not lethal for MD schools, especially if you live in a lucky state.

Come back when you have an MCAT score and we can better advise.
