I know my GPA is not good but considering that 3 years ago I had a 1.2 GPA after my first 4 semester; I have risen it a lot. I had slacked off in undergrad because of a bad relationship with friends (Mentioned in PS). I've spent the last 3 years bringing up my GPA (with one off semester in 3 years). I will have good LORs (Advisor/Dean/Professor/Dentist)

Shadowing - Over 200 by time of application (I've shadowed each field of Dentistry)
Volunteering - Over 500

I'm a MO resident applying to
UMKC
Oklahoma
Nebraska
MODOS
Arizona (Both)

Thanks in advanced.

That's great that you were able to bring your GPA up so much but you've still got a ways to go. Many schools have a 3.0 cutoff. I'd recommend looking into doing a masters program to "reset" your GPA per se as your graduate GPA is calculated separately from your undergraduate GPA. You could also look into doing a post bacc but it's unlikely that it would significantly increase your GPA. Your DAT scores aren't terrible but I'd also consider taking it again and doing extremely well to offset your low GPA. I'd also increase your list of schools to which you're applying and apply broadly and to schools with lower GPA averages. Good luck!

Agree with what the above said. In addition, as a NE resident and someone who interviewed both there and Creighton during this last cycle, I wouldn't apply to UNMC out-of-state. They care a lot about GPA (avg accepted GPA is like 3.73), and they aren't super friendly to out-of-state applicants. You'd be a lot better off applying to Creighton of the 2 NE schools.

That being said, you'll need to probably do something drastic about that GPA and probably get that DAT up a couple points as well.

Masters/post-bac. and apply to more schools! No ADCOM will over look your GPA, regardless of your ECs/LORs/PAT score..

You'd save money by not applying to state schools other than your own. Usually, the admission criteria for state schools are big higher for OOS applicants than for in-state applicants, and your stats aren't that great even for in-state..
