Just got MCAT scores back today.
I got a 503 (125,127,127,124) and I wanted to know what people thought about whether I am okay to apply in 2018 cycle or if I should start studying and retake. I think I could improve ~3 pts on psych/soc but I'm not sure if I could improve a lot on the other sections (maybe 1-2 points).

sGPA: 3.64 cGPA: 3.72 with a lot of research experience, about 175 hours of community service (I'm planning on doing a lot more this year), about 70 shadowing hours, and decent ECs. My top choice is PCOM, but I am willing to apply very broadly to other DO programs and some MD as well.

Any insight would help.

What state? I'm not sure if you would make the MD cut with your MCAT tbh. For DO schools, try all except the ones that favor high MCAT, such as AZCOM, Touro, Western, etc

There's some who'll tell you to avoid certain schools because of MCAT preference, but you're GPA makes up for it. You'll be competitive at almost every DO school!

You're def good to go for DO. MD is a stretch. You could take the september 9th test? Apply with your current score, then update with that if you do better. I do think you'll be successful with your current MCAT at a DO school.

Delaware resident, so Jefferson is the closest I have to an instate school. Is there an okay chance at some of the others like maybe Midwestern, Rocky Vista, PCOM, Pacific northwest, etc??

Hmmmm... I mean doesn't hurt to try, but Jefferson is like a mid-tier and their MCAT average is a lot higher that what you have. PCOM will definitely be a good school to apply. The Midwesterns averages were a 506-508 last cycle and AZCOM does a hard pre-screen early and pre-II waitlists anyone with below a 507. Try UNECOM, Marian, and some other northeast schools.

Midwestern won't send you an II unless you have a 506 or higher so don't waste time with that. A 503 is above average, but nothing special. Touro screens below 500 and so does Rocky Vista. A.T. Still is a good bet as well as PNWU, ACOM, PCOM, BCOM, and LECOM.

The score is circling the drain for MD, but fine for all DO. I can't recommend Touro-NY or LUCOM.

For mD, you can try:

Loma Linda (only if you are SDA or a very devout Christian)
Loyola
VCU
Oakland U Beaumont
WVU
Uniformed Services University/Hebert (just be aware of the military service commitment)
