Hi guys! New to SDN. I wanted to know what my chances are for medical school. Both MD and DO. I would appreciate any and all help.

Gpa: 3.6
Sgpa: 3.6 (if I calculated correctly)
MCAT: (taking in May, been scoring around 505-508)
Major: Biology and Spanish
Fluent in Arabic, English, and proficient in Spanish.
EO1, low SES
Came from an immigrant family

experience:
Over 1000 hours clinical experience, Working as a clinical research assistant at a cancer center. Involved in clinical trials. Great patient/research experience.
Undergrad research 2 years
Service abroad trip to Haiti. Worked medically and also served as a Spanish translator/TA
200 hrs working in hospice
Identify as LGBTQ and very passionate about LGBT health disparities. I volunteer at my local LGBT center. Work with Youth group, trans health, and advocating for prep. It's one of the reasons that drove me to medicine. I faced homelessness growing up.
TA of a few classes in undergrad, public health classes
First year was not so good, but upward trend of grades.
I work with physicians on a regular basis. Close relationship, although I would love to get the chance to shadow a DO as a LOR for DO school would be important. I have worked with a few, but not on a close level to ask for a letter.

Can't think of anything else off the top of my head right now.

Any advice is appreciated. I'm just really hoping I do well on this exam.

Most likely no one will get back to you (and the answers if they do can have no meaning) since you don't have an MCAT score

I'm due to take the test next week. Seeing as I won't get my score till day of applications opening, I was wondering what the ball park for a 505-508 (I'm praying I can get a 510) what my chances would be. Assuming I hit on the low end.

ASSUMING 505-508:
Drexel
FSU
Michigan State
Oakland Beaumont
Vermont
Toledo
Tulane
Wake Forest
+ Your state schools unless they are ridiculous

You should also consider DO as you are on the low end for MD

Not sure how that would work. I graduated over two years ago in NY, but moved to Ohio since that's where I'm working as a CRA. Would my state schools be Ohio Since I'm considered an Ohio resident now? Appreciate your help! I also wanted advice from possibly any LGBT applicants that have experience applying. It can be challenging sometimes navigating what school would be best. One that is accepting where you can freely talk about important issues. I'm going to work on my personal statement shortly after next week when I take the exam. I wanted to openly talk about the challenges I faced being homeless from being rejected by my family and tie it into the work I do today. Its something so important to me, but I believe I have a lot of experiences and unique aspects that I hope I can highlight effectively.

Post your MCAT score here when available and then we can give you a more accurate idea on which schools you can apply to.
