Hi there all! So I am in quite a dilemma. I graduated from college with a 3.35 cgpa and a 3.1 sgpa. I did research for 2.5 years undergrad, shadowed for 2 years, and volunteered and did activities with children at the same hospital for 2 years before that. So, 2 years volunteering with the children, and the next 2 years shadowing doctors. I transferred to the college I graduated from Spring of my sophomore year, and ended up taking on way too many classes and ended up getting 3 C's that semester, which pretty much destroyed my GPA. I then raised my GPA the following semester to a 3.56, then a 3.5, and my first semester of Senior year I got a 4.0. Then second semester senior year happened, and again I got destroyed by classes (Physics), and ended up getting a 2. 9. So, there goes my upward trend. I am currently doing a DIY post bacc at a local university, but they only allow non-students to take 2 science classes, so I have only been able to take 2 science classes each quarter. I have been getting A's in all the classes I have taken during the DIY post bacc, while at the same time working 30 hours, and studying for the MCAT. Currently I am working at an Alzheimer's research lab at my local university, where I will be published as a secondary author in 2 papers by the end of the year (after I have submitted my apps to medical school). I also am shadowing a DO, and shadowing another MD. I actually already took the MCAT once in August of 2018, and got a 506, which I knew wouldn't help me, so I retook in January of 2018, and got a 517. I am wondering what more I should do to try and get into medical school. With only being able to take 2 classes each quarter, I can raise my cGPA to a 3.4, and my sGPA to a 3.2, which again won't really do anything, because it barely raised my GPA. I have no idea what to do, or where to apply. Any help would be awesome, cause at this point I am thinking about not even applying to medical school.
