When I graduated UIUC IN 2017 , my overall gpa was a 2.9 and my science gpa was a 2.19. Recently I finished an informal post Bacc consisting of life science prereqs and other upper level science courses and got a 3.6 Can you please suggest if I need to add or remove school from my list. Thank you for your time and responses.

Your science GPA is still quite low and your DAT is not really high enough to outweigh that. You have a good amount of private schools on your list but I would add more to have a better shot at admission. You have some great experiences and a lot of volunteering so look for schools that put emphasis on that!

your chances at a public school if you are OOS are quite low, despite the upward trend in your GPA
stick with mostly or all privates
and have a back up plan for masters/SMP/formal post-back if you don't get in this cycle and are committed to being a dentist

if you were in my situation would you apply with my stats?

I say if you have the money then it’s worth a shot, but make sure you also apply to a masters/post-bacc in case this cycle doesn’t work out. Good luck!

It is good to hear the truth before you're in too deep and the previous posts are pretty accurate. As stated, your stats are a bit on the low side as a whole and your chances are low, but there's always a chance. It really depends on the amount of resource you have. If you can/want to keep trying then go for a it and apply to the masters/postbacc. Remember that even if you get accepted, dental school is HARD and fast pace compare to undergrad. Some will argue that how you perform prior does not indicate your success level in dental, but I say otherwise. It gives you something to go by and in this case you will need to change the way you study. Getting in is one part, the other is getting through the coursework and landing that job.
You have it that your a minority and that helps a lot. You can look at the http://www.ada.org/~/media/ADA/Education and Careers/Files/dat_users_manual.ashx
If you are of a certain minority group you can have pretty below average stats to get in.. Affirmative action exists.
What you have on your list of school looks like you've done some research which is good.

thank you so much.

Have you had any luck so far? My stats are very similar and I've gotten 1 interview invite so far.. so I think you have a decent chance. Good luck

did you apply to mainly private schools? also when did you submit your complete app?

Yes, mainly private schools, although not all. It was submitted the second day the application opened, June 5 I believe. The interview I've received is from the University of Tennessee (my state school). I probably wouldn't advise this school for you though because they are not OOS friendly (except for Arkansas residents) so it would likely be a waste of money and time. I would highly recommend applying to Meharry, as you seem like an ideal candidate for them. They favor underrepresented minorities and your stats are competitive enough, it seems. I know a few Meharry alumni and they are all very successful dentists/oral surgeons.

P.S. dont underestimate the value of a stellar personal statement. I believe mine was a big reason why I am being considered. Hope this helps.

thank you for reaching out. I submitted complete applications to 15 schools (UIC, SIU, Midwestern, Meharry, louisville, AT Still Missouri, western (pomona), Roseman, temple, New England, Marquette, Indiana, colorado, tufts, and USC) expect for temple on july 25.
I am also hopeful that my Personal statement catches an ADCOM's attention. Good luck this cycle as well!

I got my first interview at indiana! any other schools offer your interviews?

Congrats!! It's unlikely I'll get any more interviews because two of my science rec letters fell through and I've been out of school a couple years so it's tough to get those.. but fortunately my interview is at my top choice and I plan on killing that opportunity. Good luck in yours!!
