texas OOS is almost impossible with your stats, they take less than 5 students oos per year

you need to aim higher on your dat scores...

Those DAT scores are definitely a low ball. I just want to see if I could possibly get in anywhere if I end up with those somehow

Yeah beef up your studying and aim for a 22+. will open a lot of doors to non-crazy priced schools.

Obviously University of Utah should be your top choice as in-stater. Look at their average stats and try to exceed them on the DAT. start networking with students and instructors over there as well online if not in-person and ask for advice on shaping your app.

Will do. I appreciate the advice. Do you think I've got good chances at getting in at least somewhere if I do well on the DAT?

do more research into schools. Don’t just filter by location and average DAT/GPA.
UW and Texas schools are very, very unfriendly to out of staters even with high DAT/GPA.

Go look at UConn class of 2025 thread and see the GPA and DAT for kids who were out of state/region and waitlisted. It’s incredibly competitive.

Consider COA of NYU, Roseman. If those were your only options would you really want to attend?

It’ll be hard before you know your DAT score, but you should have a decent sense of how you are doing before you take it and how well you’ve done on previous standardized tests. Be honest with yourself in creating a realistic school list. If you can hit 22+ on the DAT you’ll be in good shape IMO. But if you only hit what you’ve predicted 19AA, your app looks very average
