What are my chances?

You should get some. It also depends on which schools you are applying to as well as your other parts of the application. GPA, DAT, and applying early are the most important things, but not the only things. I think you'll be fine.

You should make sure your personal statement is absolutely positively the way you want it and the best work possible...this is important because if any adcom sees a 3.5 with your DAT scores, chances are they will go with that...unfortunate for you, but true. There is a lot of competition, but like the other poster said, if you can make your personal statement stand out, have good reccs, and a few extracurriculars, you'll get an interview or two. Good luck!

I'm in the same boat too, esp. applying from Canada. Would you guys suggest I try to get my statement done as fast as humanly possible or take an extra week to make it good enough to overlook some of my deficiencies?

Also, do schools weigh AA higher relative to all the other sections and if so, can grades compensate for crappy sections on the DAT? Should a high GPA be able to override for a mediocre DAT??

have great LOR and a kick ass PS. and apply TODAY!!

i don't think anything overrides each other. they do consider your application as a whole. ur gpa and dat's look great though, so i don't know why you're so worried.

hey guys, I have a 3.11 gpa and 19/20/19 Dat score, and I am applying early. what do you guys think my chances are for interview?

No one can tell really, anything is possible as I have experienced it myself...pick a school that you really like, call their admissions office, talk to them get to know them, make them know you're really interested...GO TO THE OFFICE AND MEET THE ADMISSIONS PEOPLE IF POSSIBLE...
try to get your gpa up if possible and update them.

most important of all be persistent and have patience....apply early.

anyone can do anything if they really and honestly try their best

P.S. you'll get in somewhere don't worry, apply to NYU as back up.
