Hi everyone...

I got a mcat score of 23 (7P, 8V, 8B, O). My gpa is 3.5-3.6 sci and 3.7 overall. My grad gpa (in social sciences) is 3.86. Lots of shadowing/clinical/volunteer, some research, and strong letters of rec.

Anyone know of people getting intoMSU, Chicago, PCOM, TCOM (out of state), NYCOM, or Western with my stats?

i wouldnt even bother applying to TCOM..

Apply to at least 12 schools and I would say you have a good shot, at least IMHO.

Any helpful hints? I've actually been living in NY (for grad school) for the last two years and iwill definitely apply to NYCOM... NYCOM is not quite in the city...but seems close enough.

They seem to like locals so try to play the NY/LI factor up as much as you can. Also after you apply, try sending them a letter saying that you are still interested in them and why you're a good match for them and why they're a good match for you.

Thanks for the info. Never knew sending a letter after applying was legal...Will def keep that in mind.. I have to admit though...the closest I've ever been to LI is Long Beach. I've spent most of my time working for non-profits around the NYC (manhattan, queens, bronx) area.

How bout NSUCOM? I forgot to add that on the list as well...

NSU should be fine...good luck..apply early!

wally.......

I got the exact same score as you and Im applying now too....good luck!
But mine was 23-O with 10 in BS; 7-PS; and 6 in VR.

I applied to 12 schools and my GPA is 3.5 overall/3.2 SCI/3.9 non-science, so I hope one of the 12 will let me in with my international volunteer experienes in India. And it sounds like you are going to submit to to let you know I have got 10 secondaries out of the 12 only not from VCOM and Touro-Mare Isl as of date....I am complete at a few places and I am holding my breath for interviews and retaking the Aug MCAT on Saturday...
