You seem to have a good shot numbers wise (your undergrad GPA is a little low, but your grad one seems to make up for it). However to get into top 20 schools like these its not just about the numbers anymore. Make sure you have a very strong PS and secondary essays ( I strongly urge you to have others review them-you can even get reviewers here on SDN, there is a thread somewhere or another). Also have you shadowed a physician for a substantial period of time? Have you volunteered? Are you involved in any activities, sports, groups, clubs, etc? These are all things that are important for applying to medical school. When you apply to these top tier schools you need to be more than just numbers to impress them. I would most definetly apply to all of these schools, but make sure you have a strong overall application. Also apply to some less competitive schools as well just in case.

Well, it's not me asking, but my friend. He seems to have all the EC's covered since he is like 24 and 2 years out of college. He is concerned about his GPA, but other than that, he is a high quality candidate.

His GPA will probably get him by the initial screenings at most every school, and his MCAT will help immensely after that. If his EC's are in order and LOR's will be strong, he's in good shape.
