3.8 BCPM and 3.8 Cumulative GPA in Bioinformatics at a state U.

30 (10,10,10) on MCAT in April
30 (9, 11, 10) on MCAT in July

I've kind of lost hope after studying myself to death for the July test, only to be slapped in the face with the exact same score. I was really hoping for a stellar score so I could get more reach, but this 30 feels like its ruined my life... again...

Nice GPA! If you have average ECs, you should do fine applying to your state schools. If you have great ECs, you'll get attention from private schools. If you hope to get into the top 20, you're doomed to retaking the MCAT again, maybe after taking a formal prep course if you haven't already done so.

Why did you say that your score of "30 feels like it's ruined my life"? I'm sorry you are so disappointed, but a lot of people would be very happy with that score. Realign your priorities to getting into any medical school, not just one of the highest selectivity.

Doesn't Kaplan guarantee an increased score or you can repeat the course?

Well, it's not that the 30 ruined my life, but I took it once and got a 30, and hoped to push it up a little better. I studied hard for the past 3 months, and took it, and... got 30 again T-T. It's like, no matter how hard I try, the MCAT turns into Lex Luthor and says "WRONG!"

I know how you feel. I took it three times because I made the same score my first and second time. Fortunately, I did well enough the third time to justify taking it multiple times.

If you feel like you could do better, take it again, but remember that a 30 is certainly not a dead end.

I'm not sure why you're so bummed about an MCAT score that will get you into med school. Apply, and enjoy being a doctor in four years.
