You'll have a very solid application, even without the research, and will have a good chance of getting in somewhere. California schools are hard to make predictions about, as so many applicants are terrific AND have several years of research experience. They do tend to like candidates that stand out in some way, not necessarily in research. You have time before you apply to create some type of a wow-factor if you don't already have it. What is your WHO club all about? Perhaps this is area to shine.
