Hi, this is another low GPA what are my chances post.. 🙄

So I just took the DAT and these are my scores:

PAT 15 😱 I had no idea what hit me over here
QR 22
RC 25
Bio 19
GC 21
OC 21
TS 20
AA 22

I basically wanted to take the DAT asap so that I could apply early, because I heard that was a good idea . I didn't plan well and I had my finals last week so I only really studied for the past week, and I was pretty burned out to boot. I did not see the PAT section before today.

So my goal is to retake the DATs at the end of this summer and bring those scores up.. My current GPA is 3.1, and my sGPA will pretty much reflect that given my major. BUT I finished my Biochem degree in 3 years and will be taking 1 year of grad school next year instead of graduating early (hoping adcoms take that in to consideration). Where should I be applying for my best shot at an acceptance.. and should I apply now, or after I retake after summer?

I have good ECs and letters.

Retaking the DAT is necessary...if you kicked ass on the PAT, I would say your scores are pretty solid and competitive. Just make sure you get about the same scores next time and get 22+ on PAT, just to be safe. Your GPA is on the lower side, so maybe an additional year of grad school to boost your BCP gpa will help. I would wait on applying this year and apply for the following cycle because if you do well on your DATs the second time, your chances of getting an interview are slim because most applicants will have already received their interviews at the end of summer. If you do get an interview, you might get waitlisted. Therefore, its better to do extremely well the extra year of grad school, get your grades up, take your time to resolidify your knowledge needed for the DAT, and apply early. If you do this method, I'm pretty sure you will get some interview offers and potentially acceptances. Good luck.
