I am currently enrolled at Boston University (known for its deflation). I want to apply to MD schools by this summer. My stats are as follows:

School: Boston University College of Arts and Sciences
Year: Sophomore
Major: Biology
Minors: Chemistry, Philosophy, Music Performance
expected cGPA by start of summer '10: 3.2
expected sGPA by start of summer '10: 3.1
MCAT: 32R (12PS-10V-10BS)
Extracurriculars: Emergency Medical Technician with BUEMS, BU India Club, BU Jazz Ensemble, BU Concert Band, BU Pep Band, BU Scarlet Band, Terry and the Sall Shakers (the band I'm in)

I intend to graduate from BU in 3 years. I can take the intro bio/intro chem classes I skipped over during the summer as a GPA boost to get the cGPA and sGPA higher (it would be 4 courses, 16 credits total). I am being optimistic about the GPAs. My freshman year was not very remarkable other than my science classes. I will hopefully have an upward trend in my GPA overall (so far I do from Year 1 to Summer)

You need to get that GPA up to around a 3.6 undergrad. Remember classes are classes so take some "extra" classes that are easier to raise that GPA. I would add one semester and do summer school to get more hrs. I would also recommend doing clinical volunteering. The ER tech job is not volunteering. Do some shadowing as well. MCAT is good. Just do what I said above and you will be in alot better shape when you apply.
