Hi all,

I am filling my app. and i am so worried.
I have 3.3 (science and non-science) and 19 on MCAT (yeah i did bad..and planning to retake it in January)
I am president of pre-podiatry club at my school..

my choices are CSPM, Western, Temple, OCPM, and NY...
what are my chances?
you guys think i should apply asap and let the schools know that I am retaking MCAT in Jan? (unless I get accepted with my current stats lol)

The avg MCAT score for pre-pods is a 21. Since you have lower then a 21 you would need a higher gpa then you have to have a chance at some of the lower tier schools. I'd wait until you get your MCAT scores back before you apply officially. January is still a ways away. What you could do now is send out for your transcripts so that at least these will be received by AACPMAS. Therefore the only thing left you would need to do is release your scores when your Janaury scores come back.

You can still get into Ohio, Barry, NY, and lately it seems CSPM, with those stats. I know of people who have worse than that who have gotten into those schools.

I would get your app in right now. You can interview for those schools right now, plan on taking the MCAT in January -just in case. Ohio, Barry, and CSPM do acceptances the same day, so you'll know right away if you should continue with a Jan MCAT (If your happy with those schools).

If they have problems with your MCAT, then you can bring up the fact that you are scheduled to retake it in Jan.

If you want to go to DMU, AZPOD, WesternU, Scholl, or even Temple, you will probably need to take the MCAT again and score better than a 22 to secure a spot. If that is the case, then I would still get my app in right away, but send them a letter/email stating that you are planning on retaking the MCAT in Jan. Some will still interview you right away -others will wait.
