Hello,
I've always wished to be a dentist, but am discouraged by my low grades. I want to apply this summer, will be taking my DAT in Aug, but am filling out AADSAS as of right now. What are my chances and any recommendations for schools to apply to in particular? Thanks a million for any advice.

Undergrad Major: Biol & Pyschology Double
Undergrad GPA 3.07
Undergrad Science 2.87

Grad Major: Biology
Grad GPA 3.94
Grad Science 3.94

Cumulative GPA 3.30, Cum Science GPA 3.26
(do science GPA's combine undergrad & grad??

I have tremendous research experience, am TAing 4 labs a week, plus working job at 40+ hrs while going to school.
I also have about 150 + hrs shadowing/observing/volunteering w/ various dentists.

😕

Your story resembles mine. I was told to average 20's on the DAT. I'm also in a post-bac program right now. Unfortunately, you grad GPA and undergrad GPA do not combine. However, schools are willing to overlook a low GPA if your DAT is stellar and your current trend in grades is positive. So they will look at your grad GPA despite it not being a part of your undergrad GPA. You have a great chance. Don't give up. I'm not
