I'm thinking about heading to Arrakis for the summer as a humanitarian mission to the fremen. As you may know, they are experiencing yet another drought which is devastating their way of life. (Don't worry, this trip has been arranged by House Atreides so you know its legit). I'm hoping that this will be looked on favorably by AdComms as I am not only doing medical work (mainly hydration therapy), but I am also working in a non-urban environment.

I know that this forum is specifically related to "what are my chances for med school?" but I'm hoping that maybe someone can help me with another concern.

My concern is that I will be spending hours out in the desert, walking as well as working very close to spice harvesters, which cause a great deal of vibration. What are my chances of being eaten by a sandworm?

Actually, I imperfectly paraphrased a piece from the book. I really loved that 'fear' mantra, and most of it stuck with me.
