  1. Pre-Podiatry
I have a GPA of about a 3.1. I took the mcat and got 18 (i barely studied). I plan to retake it in february. I have 2 years of lab experience. I currently work in a physiology lab. I worked in a neuroscience lab as a part a summer undergraduate program and presented a poster presentation. I plan on shadowing a podiatrist and volunteering. Do i stand a chance??

- Depends on what your Science GPA is, and also depends upon the breakdown of your 18 MCAT. If it is like (6,6,6) then you will probably be okay. But anything less than like 5, on a sub section and you are screwed. I would contact the schools you are wanting to apply to and ask them about your status. GL.

actually it is 6, 6, 6. my science gpa may be a tad lower but i really dont kno for sure. I really want to attend barry. would I have a good chance at getting an interview if i apply in december.

I would think that you won't really know if you have a decent shot until you get your second MCAT score back. Below average gpa, below average science gpa, and below average MCAT doesn't look too promising. You are going to have to score above average on the MCAT to compensate, and obviously the higher the better. You should probably start shadowing a podiatrist ASAP before you invest more time/money on the MCAT since you might find out that you don't really like this career. Good luck!🙂

how low is the science GPA.As long as it is not <2.8, it should not be amajor factor. in general, aim for a 21 on the mcat and you will get in somewhere unless that science gpa <2.5.
