Strong drive to return back to South Texas (Medically under served)
Preferably TCOM, but in general any DO program?
Any shot at MD?

Biomedical Engineering Society, Global Medical Brigades (Going with first group from our campus in January), Instructor for TexPREP (Texas Prefreshmen engineering program the last two years) and 150+ documented hours of volunteering/shadowing a physician.

MD schools in Texas that might be worth a shot:

Tech-El Paso
Tech-Lubbock
A&M
UTHSC-SA

All of these schools have a pretty strong emphasis on rural / under-served medicine, so if you skillfully articulate your desire to work in South Texas (I'm assuming the Valley?), you might get a look, given your URM status. That's obviously not a guarantee, of course. Your GPA would probably be near the bottom percentile for those schools, so be hopeful, but realistic.
