I'm a class of 2012. My GPA really sucks!! 3.1+ overall. science GPA may be 3.3+. Trying to boost my GPA in next two semesters. I go to an Ivy that has grade deflation. Took real hard courses though. Now preparing for MCAT.
I have real good research, paper and college sports. Still dwelling on my target and safe colleges for applictaion. Please help me!!!

You mean that has grade inflation? At least that's what's commonly believed.

Your Ivy name could help you get into a good SMP provided your MCAT is also good. As it stands now you're neither competitive for MD nor DO.

I'd suggest spending an additional year improving your GPAs (senior year +supersenior year, or senior year plus a full-time postbac year elsewhere)to have a decent shot at MD schools. While your overall GPAs might still not be terrific (~3.46 ish with straight As), a string of near-straight As for two years would be meaningful to adcomms along with a strong MCAT score, as you will have proven yourself capable of surviving in med school. If that kind of output will not be possible at your school, either tranfer now to protect your GPA, or plan on an SMP (with a high GPA) to override your lackluster undergrad grades.

If you demonstrate a steep upward grade trend in the sciences over this next year and get an MCAT of 30+, you might get into a DO school, if you're in a hurry and don't want to invest more time in GPA enhancements.

I hope you have all the rest of the usual and customary ECs for med school, which you haven't mentioned. The research and intercollegiate sports are helpful, though.

Hey guys, I still have two semesters left. Things will improve.
In terms of ECs, I have played a leadership role for the sports team and traveled domestic and int'l. Have an Internship job at the college hospital.
Co-author of a research paper. DO I need more ECs? There is not much time in the day!!! Oh ! I have citations at least in two subjects! Not sure if that counts. I have to do good in MCAT.Dont take me out of the game pls unless I do it myself.
