what are my chances for MD & DO schools?
Tell us more about your GPA, particularly why the sGPA is on the low side. Did you retake any classes to take advantage of the AACOMAS grade replacement policy? Do you have a recent upward grade trend? Have you gotten any As in upper-lvel Bio or Biochem?

I do have an upward trend however the low sgpa is due to receiving a lot of Bs & B+'s. For example I got a B+ in cell biology, biochemistry of physiology (biochem 1&2 intensive course), and physics 2 last semester. I've gotten a few A's in my upper level sciences such as in bioanalytical chemistry lab and a upper level independent research based genetics course. Also outside of science classes, I've taken a few classes that might help me out. I've gotten an A+ in medical terminology and health information systems (a graduate level class).

Right now I'm grinding it out and hopefully will add about 6 more A's that will contribute to my science gpa by the time I graduate. Additionally, I'm planning on taking a gap year after I graduate in the spring but I'm not sure if I should do a masters program or continue to work in a clinical or research setting. Any advice you can give me will be much appreciated.

Odds are excellent for interviews at most DO schools. MD, impossible.

I'm sure it's not "impossible".
Try some of the low-tier schools.
Meharry, Quillen, Oakland, Howard, etc 👍

1) Right now I'm grinding it out and hopefully will add about 6 more A's that will contribute to my science gpa by the time I graduate.

2) Additionally, I'm planning on taking a gap year after I graduate in the spring but I'm not sure if I should do a masters program or continue to work in a clinical or research setting. Any advice you can give me will be much appreciated.
1) If you can do that, I'd agree that you'll have a great chance at may DO programs. If you have a lenient state school, they might take a look too, but if you wanted a better chance at MD schools, I'd suggest before applying, that you either do an additional year of undergrad or do undergrad postbac work in the sciences (maybe at a cheaper state school).

2) An SMP (Special Masters Program) is the better masters for help getting you into MD schools, as few of them consider even a hard-science traditional masters GPA. AACOMAS does merge the undergrad and grad GPAs into one application GPA, but not all of them judge you by this number, preferring the better comparability of the undergrad GPA (since everyone doesn't have a masters). I would not suggest a traditional masters unless there is a field of study you'd want to master. This type of masters is more helpful once you apply to residency programs.
