Hi Everyone!

So, I came from Pakistan three years ago and am currently acquiring my Associates in Science from Northern Virginia Community College. I have three more pre-requisites to go: Physics, Organic Chemistry and Microbiology. I have a 4.0 GPA, am a member of Phi Theta Kappa, and have been a private tutor for more than a year. I'm shooting for Pharmacy schools in Virginia and Maryland. I took my PCAT in January and here's how a fared:

Verbal - 58 PR

Biology - 97 PR

Chemistry - 93 PR

Quantitative - 55 PR

Reading Comprehension - 20 PR

Writing - 2.5

Composite - 79 PR

My scores dropped after the Mid-Break as I wasn't feeling well on test day. Do I need to re-take the test or would I get to explain myself during the interview (provided that I even qualify for it). Please provide me with your insights guys! I'm new to all this.😕

You need 8.0 GPA, score 190 on the PCAT composite with 190 minimum across board in all subject + be member of 2 fraternities or ur OUT.

Best way to know is to go and apply. Some schools require a BS so keep that in mind when you do apply.

Thank you 714 for taking the time to respond. I just wanted to make sure that before applying I would have a chance to get in; and if not, then I should retake and then apply. Has anyone here made it to a Pharmacy school in Virginia or Maryland with these or similar scores??

If you worried about your scores they're fine. I applied blindly and I did well. You'll be fine.

The GPA and LORs and extracurriculars and essays will get you the interview. But once you get the interview, they're going to have the chance to make a decision about whether you are a good fit for pharmacy. Either you have "it" or you don't. There is nothing you can really do to change who you are - your whole life has been one big preparation for the interview. So if you truly think you'd make a good pharmacist based on your appraisal of your skills and intelligence and sensitivity, then you'll probably get in somewhere. I assume you're able to be honest with yourself. The numbers don't matter that much; what matters is your character.
