Hello all,

I would like your opinion on my chances for the upcoming application cycle. I'm especially concerned because my academic performance has been alright until the junior year (rising trend), but suffered from a medical condition in my senior year which led to withdrawals from many courses. I am completing them now in my fifth year of undergrad (full time but not a full course load). I am clear from the medical condition since half a year ago. My cGPA is 3.68 and sGPA is 3.53. My last DAT AA was 19 (Bio 21 Orgo 18 G.Chem 18 QR 21 PAT 23 RC 20) and thinking of improving my score after April if necessary. I have 100+ volunteer hours, extensive work experiences (unrelated to dentistry or research) and will fill up 100 hours of shadowing by May. Thanks for your insights in advance! 👍

I think you will be fine. Apply as early as you can early June and apply broadly (at least 10+ schools). Interviewers might bring up your junior year's academic performance issues so just be ready to address them with confidence and how you overcame what happened.
