Currently in undergrad. with a cGPA: 3.58 and sciGPA: 3.5

Have not taken MCAT, plan to take it next summer. I have strong ECs: President of two clubs, VP for two other clubs. 100+ hrs of volunteering and plan on volunteering more this summer at hospitals. Have 2 internships and 1 paid internship. No research experience. Have 3 jobs currently (student manager, tutor, pharmacist tech.)

Hoping to get into out of state schools: Howard University School of Medicine or George Washington School of Medicine.

Willing to go instate (OHIO) as well (as long as I get accepted).

I prefer MDs, but willing to go for DOs as well.

*Looking at a 27 MCAT*

Any idea on ballpark MCAT score (based on practice tests)? It's hard to give you any advice in the complete absence of that number.

Sorry, lol. Probably looking at a 27 MCAT. How will it look?

Are you considered underrepresented in medicine? If so a 27 should be okay for some MD schools. If not it is certainly okay for DO schools and you have one of the best in-state at OU-HCOM.

27 MCAT with those stats will be pretty solid for DO, not so much for MD.

Thanks for the replies guys! Looking for more opinions on this. Has anyone gotten in with similar stats/score like mine?

my cGPA was 3.58, sGPA was 3.7. I ended up wt a 28 MCAT. Tx resident non-URM, got 1 MD interview and an interview at TCOM (only applied to 7 schools). Got accepted to tcom. If you are URM you have a pretty good chance at MD if you get a 28+.

A 27 MCAT is a no-go for any MD school. Don't bother applying to Howard unless you're a URM. Crack 30 and you should be fine for a decent number of low-mid tier programs. 27/3.5ish is fine for DO.

Where should I be for MCAT score to be considered for Howard with my stats? Any ideas?
