I am a junior in college. I am very smart but have bad grades due to severe anxiety and depression with adjustment to college which I am working on and will go away. I really want to go to medical school and it is my true passion. At this point I'm keeping positive and just seeking out post-bac programs and explained my situation. Will the temporary anxiety/depression be frowned upon for admissions to medical school?

Temporary issues leading to poor grades may be overlooked, or can be compensated for in various ways. Sustained excellent coursework that demonstrates you've changed will be particularly important. How deep in the GPA hole you've dug for yourself, and what have your most recent grades been like?
