You can always email the professor of classes you did well in, some will gladly do it, a personal relationship isn't always necessary for an evaluation of your performance in a class.

Asking usually works for most things.

I just went through my transcript and picked out the only 6 bio/phys professors I could ask that I got an A- or higher on...

I got a B+ in ochem 1 and the professor wrote me a strong letter of recommendation. I did miss 2 weeks of his class for a humanitarian trip though.

Did you major in science ?? Send an email to the department chair. That person is pretty much obliged to write a letter for you since you are a graduate of their program.

First ask them verbally in person "hey do you think you could write me a GOOD lor?

Then write a letter asking him to write a letter for you. Help him help you. Thank him for helping you develope certain skills that have prepared you for dental school. Give him examples, stories, and insight of how you are now better prepared. Now all he has to do is put these in his own words. Include a date that you would like the LOR written by and instructions on how to send it (say "they have asked me to have letters submitted by...).

Boom. You have an awesome LOR, not a crappy generic and vague template with the wrong name.

And if you can tell that you impress a science teacher early on in undergrad, stay in touch!!! Become friends, be genuinely interested in him, his work, his family... Stop by his office every now and then, ask advice on subjects that he has expertise in, take upper division classes from him, TA for him,...

LORs carry so much weight, it's foolish to not put effort into them.
