Hey team! I just took my DAT today and I'm wondering if I should retake it. My stats:
19AA/19TS/25PAT
I'm applying next year, so by the time I apply my oGPA should be ~3.2 and sGPA ~3.1 (upward trend).
I'm an exercise science major, around 80 hrs shadowing, 3 semesters research experience, ~50 hrs volunteer hours, dental club leadership, 2 year church service mission in Ukraine, 1 semester in China next Winter teaching English... plus stuff I know I'm forgetting, haha.
Do you think I should retake the DAT in December before I go to China? Thnkxs homiezzzzxs

If you don't have anything below 18 for DAT, you should get interviews. Make sure to apply early and very broadly.

It would also be wise to submit your app on day 1. So have your personal statement, LORs, etc.

Knowing myself, I would retake the test, but that is because I don't want to give any reasons to admission committee to not give me an interview. But your stat might be perfectly be fine. I just don't want to keep worrying about my stat after I submit my app.

Ya, my lowest score was 18. I was hoping to do better in order to somewhat make up for my low GPA. Do you really think I have a chance? I know some people probably get accepted with my stats, but it makes me nervous.

My scores were 19AA, 20TS, 22PAT, and a 17QR. I have 4 interviews. I wouldn't worry, however you are submitting quite late in the cycle. Apply broadly.

I'm not applying til next year. Just taking my DAT early.

So... I'm getting that I should not retake it then? I don't want to be annoying, I just don't want to have to study for that test again unless you guys don't think I have to, haha.

Up to you I guess, check out what schools you want to apply to and see how your stats line up. If you have a good GPA and ECs then don't bother. You have a pretty good score and shouldn't retake unless you think you'll know you can do better and have enough time to study again.

I wouldn't retake unless you know you can significantly improve. You can get interviews if you apply broadly and early , as others mentioned above. The only suggestion u have , is to do more community service. You have other good Extracurriculars , but 50 hours is not enough in my opinion. You should have over 100 hours at least

So does my two year mission and my trip to China not technically count for service hours? I think I should still get enough though since I am in charge of service for our school club this year.

Don't sweat retaking the DAT. You're competitive.
