I am a re-applicant. I am thinking about adding some Texas schools to my app. What are my chances of getting in with good stats as an out of state applicant (I'm not even from the region). Let me know if you think it's worth the $$ to apply.
Thanks

Unless you have stats like Navy DDS, I'd say spend your money elsewhere...

Texas med schools are required by law to have 90% of its' class Texas residents because the state funds the schools. I know Baylor accepts 90 people per class, so that means 9 places are avail for out of state apps. On Baylor's website they show they only took 2 out of state in 2005 and 7 in 2006. In the past, several of the schools did not take a single out of state applicant. I guess if you have great background work, letters of refs, scores, GPA and etc. you could take the chance, but really I think it is a long shot for most people.
