What are the differences between the different military branches?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
In terms of the job you will do it is mostly similar. Getting sailors/airmen/soldiers ready to be able to deploy and perform their missions and treating some family members depending on your dependent population when you are stationed in the states. When deployed you are serving in mobile facilities and probably treating more trauma than you would at home.

The big differences are cultural differences between the services, where you may get stationed/deployed and the uniform you wear. I was in the Navy and was not a dentist at the time so I can only speak to that. You are most likely stationed on the coast. Dentist can get stationed on carriers or other large deck surface ships. There are overseas bases that are very popular to be stationed too.
