So I keep hearing different opinions as to what classes admissions people consider as the most important. I hear genetics the most, but what about micro, biochem, and physio?

I'm curious if there really are any classes that admissions cares about more than any others.

Uh, the pre-reqs.

Genetics, micro, and physio are not required.

Adcoms want to see that you do well in the basic sciences (bio, chem, physics) and o-chem, and often bio-chem.

It is also good to show that you generally do well in school. There is no one magic grade from one class.

sweater making, home ec, beginners juggling, advanced juggling *intermediate juggling isn't very important*, tea making, tea partying, alcoholics anonymous, rural topography in sports, eating lunch seminar, sex ed, D.A.R.E, intermediate cupcake poisoning, basics of urination, advanced flirting (must include one night stands or it doesn't articulate...they check on AMCAS), intro to smiling & screaming, voyeur photography, frisbee, walking, calendar making, and phone answering (2 semesters...both with a lab component)

to name a few...

They want you to do well in the core requirements, and and have a couple of 500 level courses in your major. Also, a good transcript includes two years of a foreign language, a writing course (creative or technical), a computer course, and a sociology or psychology course.

The most important courses = ones you do poorly in 😛.
