I'm referring to PS1-PS3 year--do most schools have non-retail pharmacists (i.e. hospital, home infusion, ambulatory care, etc) as guest lecturerss or be course coordinators but not pay them??? Because being more than a single guest lecturer takes time (sometimes like a half-time job), not everyone is willing to give their best (in terms of quality of teaching/education) when there's no money involved. it's not that pharmacists just teach for the money--their time is valuable and could be better spent elsewhere that actually PAYS them. Where is our tuition money going to then?

and as a PS4 on rotations, why do I have to pay the school more $ than the usual P1-P3 tuition when none of the rotation preceptors get paid? Again, where is allt his P4 "tuition" money going to?

thanks for listening.

It costs way more to educate one student than a school recoups in tuition costs. This is why public schools receive taxpayer funding and why both public and private schools need donations, grants and endowments.

what costs? I pay for my own printing because my school doesn't give me any handouts. I pay for my own parking permit because my school charges for parking. I pay for my own highlighters to study because my school doesn't provide me. I have to pay for my own pens and pencils because my school does not give them to me for free so I can get an edu-ma-cacion. in the end, i pay more than what i receive--which is all right if the reason they can't spend that extra money on me for printing and such (just an example) becaue they have to allocate that money to professors and guest lectures. but they are not setting aside my tuition money for them. So I ask, where is my money going? hmmph? I think they are stealing money from students for personal pay raises, booze, fancy lunches, and maybe extra boxes of condoms

Some of the money goes to paying the professors. Some of it goes to infrastructure and utilities. It pays for our handouts and our labs. Most of my professors come from University of Illinois Hospital.

you easily forget about the cost of faculty, staff, utilities, rotations, ACCREDITATION, representation at different associations, etc...there is a lot more than what you see just for yourself

my understanding is that preceptors do get paid some. Not lots, but something.

Yep. 🙂

My tuition money goes to pay for the new city of buildings the school built out in the ghetto. Oh and the flat panel displays in the study rooms so students can play video games on them. Oh and Aeron-like chairs in the futuristic lecture halls. Now they can't afford to pay someone who can actually teach PK.

lets not forget them changing the scenary between two buildings every year for whatever reason even though it was just fine the way before. They tore up a huge part of the campus just so they can move the X road 45 degrees. . . with the buildings between the V. Now, I have more commuting time.
