Wow, tons of people are taking microbiology and immunology!

I still have to take Cell Biology before I can take any of those classes (taking it in the summer) but, I'm definitely looking forward to them next fall. Immunology, Microbiology, Physiology, and maybe endocrinology. :xf:hope I do well in them.

Whew, my schedule seems difficult on a freshmen level but looking at everyone else's makes me feel ridiculous! 😳

Gen Chemistry 1
Gen Biology 1
Pre-calculus
Economics

Gotta start somewhere, right?

Don't underestimate general chemistry and biology - they are the foundations of everything you will learn in future chem and bio classes! Don't be scared or anything, but do make sure you put plenty of effort into doing well and learning the material in these classes. If I could start back at chem I, I would make sure I kicked it square in the butt the first time. You really need that foundation.

Just saying! It kinda made life hard for me, so the extra work is worth it. 🙂

Oh, I'm not at all looking at these classes at being easy or anything. I know that people struggle with having them alongside other easier electives. I'm going to work my damn ass off to reflect my hard work as an A if possible.

It was just looking at everyone else's Biochem, Genetics, Physics, etc and it made me feel silly about worrying about my schedule in comparison. 😛

Naaah, we all started somewhere! And, in ways, gen chem can be harder than some of the more specific stuff because a lot of it is completely new, and it covers a lot of material.

One step at a time! I'm sure you'll do well.

Agreed... I never really bothered to get a strong foundation in acids and bases during General, and this came back to haunt me over and over again, especially in Organic.

I thought Biochem was pretty easy... I'd take it over Gen Chem any day!

And, given my nonexistent math skills, your Calculus class would straight up terrify me! 😉 I took Stats instead. The boredom was excruciating, but my GPA survived intact. 😀

Just keep on top of things, and I'm sure you'll do fine. 🙂

They're all difficult in their own way. Just make sure you build a strong foundation in those courses. Like a few others have said, it can definitely come back to haunt you!

Yup. Precalc II was SUPER hard for me. Luckily, Gen Chem and Gen Bio aren't usually too bad, so you should be able to focus in Pre-Calc (if math is a problem for you).

Good luck everyone!

... so you should be able to focus in Pre-Calc (if math is a problem for you).!

Not that it's exactly a problem just that I took a semester off from math due to all the classes being absolutely full, and math is the one thing that slips away very easily. So I'm taking a once a week tutorial course alongside the class to help reinforce the ideas and concepts.

It doesn't hurt, right? Especially if I get a credit for getting help! 🙂

My 2nd semester of freshman year schedule seems so boring! haha
Gen Chem 2 + lab
Gen Bio 1 + lab
Statistics + lab (LAST math class 😍 )
Argument Based Research
Communications

As a second semester senior it is going to be a wonderful break to take only 3 "real" classes only two days a week. Also no labs! yay!

Expository Writing (left my english pre-req until the very end..)
Cell Bio
Animal Welfare
Undergrad research
Beginner Equitation (yay! learning to ride!)

Immunology + Immunology Lab
Physics II + Lab
Advanced Physiology: Neuro, Muscular, & Renal
Vertebrate Zoology + lab
Wildlife Diseases

Total of 18 credit hours, to finish up my double major. I'm excited that it is my last semester of undergrad!

That sounds awesome, Jam. Would love to take those classes! Well, except for the physics, which is the only one in your list that I am taking. Yuk. (Thank goodness the prof is super nice.)

Sounds like you'll have your hands full, but I bet you'll enjoy it!

Uhhh... Lemme think...

Principles of Nutrition
Physics 2 (YUCK)
Ag Statistics (YUCK)
Ag Economics (YUCK)
Whatever online humanities I need to fulfill the humanities credit... Can't remember what it's called but my room mate told me it's really easy. Somehow I left a freshman class until my junior year... Actually I think I've got another couple freshman ag classes still LOL

Basically there's too many classes involving numbers next semester. I miss my science classes. Nutrition should be fun at least.

After next semester I have finished all except 8 credits needed to apply to vet school - Organic and Biochem. 🙄 I'll be taking Organic next summer and biochem next year so that I can apply for the first time in fall (2011). I don't expect to get in but hey, you never know.

Awww crap, you actually re-use this acid/base stuff? we're learning that stuff in chem ap right now... :bang: Hopefully (if I pass the ap test :xf:) I won't have to take genchem again in college?

P.S. Having been in both, Calculus >>>> Stats.
