Well, I like to read in my spare time.. If you couldn't guess just by my being here, I'm particularly interested in fiction dealing with illness and injury. Mental health fiction is another subject I go for. I read a lot of young adult fiction and volunteer at a library, so I've always got something lined up.

A few days ago, I finished The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. It's a cancer YA fiction, and if you're like me, you've read at least five of them so despite the crazy praise it's been getting, you won't find it groundbreaking. I thought the love interest was overly pretentious... If it didn't have a subject matter that interested me, I would have stopped reading out of annoyance less than halfway through. It wasn't all bad but.. 3/5 stars...

Currently, I'm reading Life is But a Dream by Brain James. It's about a girl with schizophrenia.. again, love interest problems and it has a slow pace, but I'll force myself to finish it.

(Sorry if this would be better suited for hSDN's social forum, which I can't view yet. Please move if necessary.)

I'm currently read, Peasant Fires: The Drummer of Niklashausen.
Darn u AP EURO summer reading 🙁

Just finished "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks" by Rebecca Skloot for college. I highly recommend it; it is absolutely as good as people say it is.

Is that the one about the vampires and the werewolves?

It's fine being here. Really aren't that many rules for what can go up, unless it obviously doesn't involve high school.

Was reading my Common Text, The Shallows: What the Internet is Doing to Our Brains. Have to find something new to read.

I'm currently reading The Slaughterhouse Five for my summer reading assignment. But if you want to read really good books, read Fever 1773 and Life as We Knew it (My freshman and junior year summer reading assignments). I love historical fiction books, especially ones that involve Philadelphia, PA. I was born near Philly, and love reading about it!

Reading Game of Thrones 1st book atm. It's pretty good, but I don't see why it is so ungodly popular (both books and tv show). I prefer the legend of the seeker series, personally.

I'm currently reading ACT for dummies.

No really.

You're not going to increase your score like that. Trust me. I've increased my SAT score from a pitiful 1490 (official PSAT) freshman year to a 2030 (official SAT. Had to take it in order to dual enroll...) sophomore year. Junior year, Imma kick ass an get that 2400. :meanie:

OMG. I LOVE LEGEND OF THE SEEKER TOO! I can't believe I've finally found someone else who appreciates it!

The Stone Carvers by Jane Urquhart....I am a major bookworm....but I only managed to read 50 pages in like 3 hours (including the 10 character analysis, the questions and the occurrences analysis)....I'm reading the rest - the other 50 pgs (due on Wed) after I finish my physics project....and I abhor physics.....

The thread....it's...it's......(gasp)....it's back to life!!! It's a miracle!!!
