MS 1's could you list what Biochem text you use and what school you attend?

Also, are your Biochem labs useful? Do you do medically related experiments or is it more general biochem as in undergrade?

What are your Biochem labs like? Thanks

No book. And no lab. I use my undergrad biochem book, Leninger, (which is an awesome book!) for reference. They recommend Lippencott if we want to purchase a reference and Stryer as one to use in the library.

We have no required text here except our syllabus, but the suggested reading is Marks Basic Medical Biochem here at UC.

lab?!! Some med schools have biochemistry lab?😱

Strangely enough, there is no Biochemistry course at Mayo. The undergraduate course is required prior to matriculation. There is some biochemistry in the first year Molecular Biology & Genetics course. But you are expected to already know the standard biochemical pathways (Kreb's, ETC, Urea, Gluconeogenesis, etc.). The Molecular Biology professors often cite Lenninger or Voet Voet Pratt.

marks is our req. I think it's fab! the clinical correlations are cute and really help to reinforce why we need to understand things like the HH equation. I really lipps too!

sorry to y'all who have to go to a lab man that sucks...

We don't have a lab. I just used our biochem notes and Lippincott's Biochem.

Dodge This--hello. I was wondering where you were, player.

No lab for me. Stryer is the recommended text, and I have Garrett and Grisham from undergrad. I was also a biochem minor, so I think I'll be OK.
