if I fail to secure a residency, what can I do with an MD/DO?
Arkansas has this.Become an Assistant Physician. Several states are proposing legislation for MD/DOs who dont match after SOAP. They work under SKYPE supervision in underserved areas. I think Missouri is one state who is considering this or passed the legislation.
So if you dont get matched the first time, you can't ever get matched ever again?
Ohhh I see, as long as there is a chance to rematch, there is hopeNo. You can apply again, as many time as you want. It's gets harder and less likely every year after you graduate and aren't doing clinical things.

Don’t forget working with lawfirms in malpractice cases against your classmates.
I feel like the military also has options for being a general medical officer, but I’m not that familiar with them.
At least a completed internship year. Or has that changed since my colleague's Navy days? That's not available to you without a residency.

It states you can enter with one year of GME, but you also have to be board eligible in whatever specialty you are entering, which I'm not sure how you do without completing a residency.
You don't need a residency, just an intern year. Then you can become a GMO.
source: I'm on a first name basis with a current resident that did an intern year (was HPSP), and then did all his military pay back time up front as a GMO and
is now entering residency.
As an HPSP, of course, it is possible. My question is is possible to do it without HPSP or another entry program, ie enter as an MD grad with just one year of residency. According to the criteria listed, I don't think it is, but please correct me if I'm wrong.
