what can you do with a pharm d/phd degree? And if any of you are in the program or went through the program tell me how it went or how its going?🙂

gosh..anybody gonna answer? If you're looking at the question and you have an answer...how about doing so?!😛

You can use the search function from this forum to read some testimonies from people who considered or took the PharmD/PhD route.

Basically, the images of working in a highly esteemed facility in academia or pharmaceutical companies flash in one's mind when considering PharmD/PhD. But, there are more varieties than that.

Gosh..... if you're looking at a forum that has an FAQ section and a search function, how about using it?

Pharm D/PhD's often times find themselves working in industry or academia. Usually their job has a research focus. If you want to be a pharmacists that works in retail or in a hospital setting....it is probably not worth doing a PhD. But if you want to teach and do research, this might be a good option. This is not to say you must have a PhD to work in either of these fields.

ha ha...I knew that I was gonna get a comment like that from someone...but I'll make sure I do that next time😉

a Pharm.D./Ph.D. is just an individual with two degrees. It doesn't limit you in any way. A dual degree holder can do whatever both degrees are allowed to do. If you want to know what a Pharm.D./Ph.D. can do, just divide the two.

Figure out what a Pharm. D. can do (which is pretty much everything).

Now figure out what a Ph.D. can do (which is pretty much anything)

Ergo, you are able to do whatever you want! With two doctorate degrees you can go anywhere you like =)
