I'm thinking blue or lavender. I have a feeling everyone's thinking the same. If thats the case I might want to change it up.

Going the extra mile to match the school colors if I can

As long as it somewhat goes with the rest of your suit. Navy suit and green tie just sticks out too much haha

Its funny cause my first reaction to these types of posts is wow, are people really asking this stuff?

Then I realize not every thread has to be serious, haha.

I have no idea what tie I'm going to wear! I have about 40 though, so should be easy to pick a good one.

I thought about this but it seemed like it might give off a try hard vibe. Dunno might just be thinking too much into it

I personally went with gray with a navy suit and light blue shirt. Looks good without being flashy

I think a lot of folks on here are youngsters and have not attended many formal events to have enough experience about these topics or have 40 ties

exactly...or are not wealthy enough to own 40 ties....ties are expensive unless you get them for $5 a piece..even then $200 for just ties is cray

Both of you guys totally missed my point! I was saying my point of view was silly, and that people should be able to ask what they want, even something like what color tie.
Also, I've purchased maybe 5 ties. All other ties were either hand-me-downs or were given to me by others. Probably 3 of those ties were from goodwill as well.

Being a student now, the only threads I click on are the "out-there" ones

Wear something like what this guy in British Parliament at 0:37 onwards is wearing. I'll be your biggest fan.
