I have a low gpa sub 3.2, and I have two semesters left so I'm working on getting it higher. I have my DAT done and i have shadowed before. I let my professors know i will be asking for lor's. I have thought of a personal statement which ill work on through the cycle (2014) So i'm still worried as hell constantly looking at all the sub 3.2 gpa forum topics etc.

So what's next? What can I do to let schools know I should not be judged based on my grades alone? i don't want to do postbac or graduate =(, cuz I'm only getting older and I can't pay for anymore extra tuition, and obviously can't make it to phd. I plan on applying as early as possible. Will that really be that much of an advantage?

Thanks all.

Your DAT seem fine. Not much you can do except finish strong with what you have left. The sad reality is that your numbers are what schools will see first. It's the key (metaphorically) to getting your admission through the door. Once you're in, your extracurriculars will make the difference whether you get an interview or not.

I agree that there isn't much he can do stats-wise, but stats are only so important. We don't know his DAT score, which is sorta huge (21+ and you're not exactly a bad applicant). I think ECs are very important to getting interviews. Every one of my interviewers has, while acknowledging my great stats, mentioned the other parts of my application extensively. All of my interviews have focused on that stuff. So, stand out in other ways. Try to be unique. Do something exceptional. Commit to volunteering somewhere spectacular, or interesting. Think about it. Write a PS that leaves them smiling. You'll need to work hard. You're like 1/4 of the way through your life. If you haven't had an amazing experience, you've got time. Don't wait for life to find you.

Get a 4.0 in each of the two semesters you have left. That will raise your GPA some and speak volumes.
