I work full-time, so I'd like to use some vacation hours during September/October to take some days off here and there in anticipation of interviews.

I figure med schools don't have interview days everyday; are there certain days they tend to interview people?

Thanks.

It's completely school-specific. Some schools only interview one day per week, and, as a result, there tends to be a big group of applicants on each interview day. I know that Jefferson only interviews students on Wednesdays because that's when the med students are available to meet with the interviewees. MCW interviews even less frequently: every other Friday. Other schools interview every weekday.

Thanks a bunch!

Looks like I'll be switching shifts like a crazy man.

I always thought it odd that (at least at the two places I interviewed) they expected me to come in on a weekday, thus missing school.

Yeah that's gonna be a drag

I think it's one of those nefarious "hidden tests" that they're giving you - see how your planning skills and precious GPA can cope with short-notice cross-country flights and sleep deprivation.

Oooh, airline food. Not only is it crap, but now you get to PAY for it, too!

Yeah, that was so difficult! I missed 6 out of 10 Thursdays in the fall quarter last year. And out-of-state interviews across the country often resulted in missing two days of school because I wanted to arrive at a decent time the day before.
