Hey John,
Did they say anything about the GPR at UIC? I am pretty sure the east coast schools are more into GPRs than midwest (particularly UIC) and are even trying to make it a law to do a GPR after their 4th year (I know in New York State its starting to be required to do 1 extra year in a GPR after you graduate) so that dental school really lasts 5 years. In any case, I am pretty sure that UIC isnt into that for a few reasons, but namely because its not required by the state of IL. In any case, things are going ok...still waiting on schools to make their decision...wish I was in your spot...but things will change in due time. The prosthodontics department chair at SIU told me not to expect anything until March (he said they make bulk of admissions decisions in March) but that he was confident that I had a strong chance. Still waiting on NYU, Temple, UIC (praying for an interview), and Marquette. Other than that trying to be realisitc.......I am pretty confident I will get rejected at NOVA and BU. Hope all is well with you and will let you know when things (hopefully) change. Will know more about IU at end of January.
