Just curious what everyone changed in their application between cycles to improve their application. Test scores, activities, letter of rec, took more courses for GPA etc.

I didn't reapply but some people close to me did and wound up successful this past cycle. Each had a range of backgrounds, stats, and activities. It seemed the general plan was to work on the weakest part of the application(MCAT retake, gpa repair, missing clinical/volunteering experience) while staying somewhat involved in volunteering and clinical activity. Hopefully something in the meantime is interesting/meaningful that allows someone to be able to talk about/describe their growth and why they're a better applicant now.

Yep. It's that simple.

It really means you have to first analyze what needs and can be improved and then take those steps. It depends on your qualifications, strengths and weaknesses. Then work on the weaknesses. Also, make sure your presentation of those qualifications via your primary and secondary applications is effective. Show growth, change, maturation in your application.

Can you move to a different state than CA? 🙂 Just kidding.....All the earlier advice is great, nothing else to add from my side. I have heard that CA has the highest re-applicant percentage among all states but the highest success rate among re-applicants. This should give you encouragement and hope.
