I stole this from the Dental thread. I thought it might be nice to list what people received everyday to help everyone else keep track of things that happened today for other peeps such as reject/accept/interview/waitlist letters, financial aid stuff, acknowledgements of acceptances, information from phone calls, bad days, good grades, nervous breakdowns, housing stuff, etc.

However, honestly today I didn't receive anything. I called a school(UIC) to see my status and the lady said she can't tell me when the adcom is meeting this month or if they already met. oh well, still waiting.

Yesterday, I was "unofficially" rejected from Northwestern (don't you love how they just remove you from their status page system w/o having the decency to send you a letter?)

But I forgot all about it when I got home and discovered an acceptance to Maryland in my mailbox! 🙂

To Brickhouse,

The official accept, waitlist, etc. hasn't given me much information about any other aspects of the process especially information people received from calling schools and I wanted this to be a little more informal so we can interact with others on their day to day account of events if people want to post here. The sticky threads seem to be more formal like just give me your name and that's all we want or you'll be blacklisted because there's a character limit.

Well, believe it or not, for the first time since I started this app process, I didn't check my mail yesterday. I actually went UNDER the pacific ocean yesterday from SF to the East Bay for the first time ever, directly after work. Then I went to Claim Jumper, and I have the other half of my honey chicken brie sandwich for lunch today 🙂

So I am sitting here at work right now, with no idea, what the mailman may or may not have brought me yesterday--this is defiantely a very foreign and scary feeling. Who knows, maybe UCSF sent me an apology that they made a HUGE mistake in rejecting me, and that they are willing to offer me a full scholarship and a living stipend so that I will forgive them and attend 😉

hmm. i'm pretty sure it's too late for interview invites from northwestern, but i'm still in the system for some reason. i guess they're just slow at removing me from the system.

it's been 20+ days since i've heard anything from the 20+ schools that i'm still waiting on.

i posted my "black hole" theory on another thread...

i've decided that there are black holes in my mailboxes (both electronic and snail). thus i am not able receive communications (rejections or interview offers) from 20+ med schools. thus it is not the med schools' fault that i am going insane, waiting, checking my email 3 times a day, praying that i get something other than credit card offers in the mail and experiencing the crushing disappointment of nothing.

somewhere in an alternate universe, an alternate spaz is complaining of the torrent of messages she receives from med schools when what she needs are more credit cards and more chances to find love through online dating services.

exactly. it was postmarked 1/31. i think that is the deadline to receive it.

today i got an estimate from my insurance guy for the hit and run dent in my car. i also got my w-2 form. today usc and ucla will receive letters from me telling them how much they want me, and should accept me. today my brother's dog, who i will be house/dogsitting, will receive a tasty sausage flavored chew stick.

Don't joke about that. Here at Columbia there was an article in the school paper that mail was being sent back to the sender before it reached school (at the local post office sorting facility), even though the addresses were absolutely correct. The best part is they have no idea how this is happening and are going to "investigate".

As for what I got, I received my university of florida deposit requirement form today...time to make a decision for real I think.
