I got an interview invite from SLU today. I haven't had an invite since December, so it has been a while (I have been complete at most schools since September). However, I am going to withdraw the invite.

Hey bonnie,
I was an avid reader of your diary entries on SDN. I'm sorry to hear that NYU and Einstein are not showin' love. I was really rooting for you; you have some really interesting life experiences. Oh well, good luck with columbia and downstate.

I'm sorry abou the rejections but nowhere better than South Beach to drown your sorrows and have a great time and forget about those who gave up a great candidate. Have fun in South Beach!! I can't wait to go back there this summer!!

rejection from jefferson and GW. unfortunately no good news from penn state.
 
i seriously don't know how to handle all this anymore. i go check the mail and i see a small, thin envelope from my dream school, which i've been waitlisted at since november. i finally get the nerve to open it up, and it turns out to be a reminder to fill out the financial aid forms and other info like that. THIS IS TOO MUCH! ah well. hope you all heard some good news today.
 
in this nerve-wrecking week of waiting for some kind of a decision from nyu, i get a nice thin envelope from einstein: dear applicant, you are just not good enough, sorry........ couldn't they have told me earlier, instead of making me wait 5+ months post interview??????

OK so I was expecting a UCLA decision within these few days.

Only one letter in mail...and on the envelope...

"Take a Deep Breath" in big letters...:wow:

When I read closely, it was a credit card company solicitation about transferring your balance, so you have less debt and can take a breath of relief

Yea I'm dumb, I should have figured no med school will put "Take a Deep Breath" on the envelope, but for a second I was totally panicking!:laugh:

a loud knock on the door at 7 AM and 6 dozen roses.....needless to say i was surprised as hell....i was like, who do i know that would get up at 7 AM, much less be knocking on my door???

now what would make everything perfect would be an acceptance to usc.........

oh, and i got a notice from my insurance company (about the dent left in my car when i parked in a parking lot by a driver who SUCKED cuz he didn't leave his information) that my deductible of $500 would cover the cost of repair.....um, no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

pre-interview reject from university of michigan via the status page. what a wonderful thing to wake up to. happy v-day indeed.
 
I get a eviction notice from my land lord today. Because I am three months behind in my rent... because I spent my last penny flying over the country for interview..... so far only get one acceptance from a great respectable school in NY..... I told my land lord I will pay him back when I get out from med school four and half years later with interest and penalty.... I also have also promised that I will marry her ugly daughter in return. Then he agreed, he had me signed the "promisary note". Just k/d hehe+pity+ 😍

being in a really silly mood, I called them up and demanded they reject me properly...

with a letter addressed to me, thank you very much. $65 can at least buy _that_ much.

I got a rejection letter from my alma mater and current place of business, pre-secondary - UCLA. Thanks for rewarding my loyalty.

Hmm. An invitation from Georgetown to apply for their POST-BAC program. That and a brochure from St. George University stating that "Medicine is still an option".

I got the same 2 things!! Rather depressing - although the Georgetown thing said at the bottom that they sent it to everyone who applied. 🙄
 
Yeah I got the G'twon invitation for Post-Bacc as well. I was like "Geez, what are you guys trying to say, huh?"

Rejection from Albert Einstein (pre-int), hmmm now I wish I had just saved my $100 and went grocery shopping instead. This much peanut butter can't be good for you.
 
My mom called and told me that I got an acceptance letter from Einstein (yesturday)! I've been waiting to hear from them for two months... 🙂

got the shaft from jefferson today...oh well=(
 
georgetown's GEMS post-bac program. never heard of it before but i'm not an under-represented minority anyway.

my brother (a junior in high school) is getting more mail from schools than i am. 🙁

got an interview invite to Pitt today! hurray for non-rolling admissions too! they have open dates from next tuesday all the way through the very end of march, so keep your chin up. this made my day for sure :clap: :laugh: :horns: 😀

Big envelope from MCW. My second acceptance. Don't worry I'll be turning it down in a timely fashion to help out our friends on the waitlist.

(As long as everything is still on track at UVa)
