OK, so it's a dumb title, but what I'm curious about is if most acceptance letters come in a standard sized envelope or in a package. I realize, of course, that each school will send out something different. I'm just trying to get an idea of what most schools do so that when I open my mailbox in a week and a half, I won't assume REJECTION if the envelope is standard size.

This waiting and waiting and waiting is making me obsess on silly things like this! :scared:

MWU sent it out in standard size envelopes

they sent the initial announcement in an email which was then followed by a standard size letter a week later.

I've gotten a phone call, then a standard size letter for one school. And I've gotten just a standard size letter for another school. And also a package from a different school.

Some schools just send out emails with regards to rejections.

Keep your head up cuz people are sending their declines & withdrawals as they receive acceptances. Thus, more acceptance letters will probably be sent out too.

UH (Houston) sent an email followed by a standard sized envelope.
Texas Tech sent a standard sized envelope filled with confetti. Then they updated the status online.

Incidentally, I sent a different confetti back to Tech when I paid the acceptance guarantee fee !!!

^that's really cool. it sends a message to its future students that they are there for you and that you actually matter as an individual! (that's how i see it anyway)

Wow, that is sooooooooo cool. :luck:

I got a phone call, and then a package. The acceptance letter was printed on a nice, thick, textured paper. The rest of the package was printed on regular paper with color paper inserts, to dumb it down for us 😀

When I opened my envelope a white powder shot all over the place...Should I be concerned? haha Mine started out with "The Adcom is pleased to inform you..."

I believe my school (SIUE) is sending ALL letters out at once, rejections, acceptances, and waitlist. But I could be mistaken.

I love the letter with the confetti! It makes it seem like that would be a really fun school to attend.

When you all got your letter in the mail, were you afraid to open it??

:luck:
Whoa, is that you Cheburashka? (As in, your bunny avatar is gone T.T )

Received an email followed by a standard envelope via snail mail.

Hehe, that's me. Hope everyone likes my new avatar.:luck:

By the way, I thought our offer to proofread my PS was sooooooooooooo sweet. 😍 Can I take you up on it, mid-summer perhaps ?:luck:

Angels popped out of my mailbox singing and carrying a thick packet with 'University of Minnesota' in the upper left hand corner.

It was a glorious day.
😀

Email, followed by small envelope from Oregon State.

Mercer notifies by phone, but somehow "forgot" me. I got some email from them regarding a first year scholarship and that triggered me to call them to see if I was accepted.

Still waiting to hear from USC. I hear it's a yellow envelope if you're in, white if you are not.

So here s what I got:
- a big yellow envelope with a big red folder w/school's name on it!!! Plus there was a "certificate of acceptance" along with an acceptance letter in there. And of course, there was a form I had to fill out and attach to my 500$ deposit.

On a side note, I freaking love getting letters/brochures/envelopes from USC. Everything is so nice, neat, color-coordinated, and printed on glossy paper!
Reminds me of opening any Apple product!
Anyways, good luck waiting for your letter!!!:luck:

The acceptance letter for UGA came in a standard size envelope.

My two acceptances were in 8x11 sized envelopes, the moment i saw it...I knew I was in, kind of anticlimactic. My one rejection was in a standard #10 envelope, i knew what was coming.
