hi, im looking for some answers here, please!! i'm 18 years old, in high school (senior), and i'm kind of undecided of what i want to go in to. medical school is out the question for me. i kind of put myself down sometimes that i cant do what i want to do even though im not even in college yet. i'd love to go to dental school, but i dont know about the loans debt and a the amount of work. i know in the end it's all worth it. i feel like it would be too hard. im going to a two year college due to not enough credits in math. then im going to a 4-yr university. im thinking of doing a dental hygiene program my first two years of comm. college then become a dental hygienist or just apply to dental school and see what happens. im just so fluttered and confused. or I might just become a Physician assistant idk!!!! someone help me im driving myself and my prents up a wall!!! thank you!! and also in dental school is it true they put in 8years of schooling into 4 years????

...that was difficult to read.

Anywho, the best information is to join your local pre-dental club and talk to the people there. Don't go into a career because of money. Don't worry about debt; you'll pay it off eventually. Don't decide your fate on a career just become something is "too hard." Nothing comes easy so just take everything one step at a time.... starting with your grammar. Good luck!

Also, for your last question: no.

why is med school out of the question?
Youre thinking waayy too far ahead... do your 2-year at CC.. either dental assisting or hygiene if you want to.. I would just do a Associate of Science, transfer to a University and major in Bio / Chem OR if there is a major you are really interested in, you can do that and make sure you get the required sciences knocked out... Don't stress out too much, you have a lot of time to decide what you want to do.. get involved in some clubs, do some shadowing, some more research.. you will find what you like

It is great that you are considering all of these professions before you even start college. But don't forget, the main point of college for most, and it looks like you fall into that category, is to figure out what you want to do with your life. I was sort of in the same boat before college. My parents were grilling me too on figuring out what I was going to do before I even started college as if not-knowing was the end of the world. In retrospect, it led to a lot of unnecessary stress.

Relax, enter college with an open mind.

Have you shadowed any physicians, dentists, or worked in a healthcare setting yet? If your answer is no to all of those how can you possibly know anything at this point? During college you should start shadowing and getting involved in healthcare. Once you get more experience and get a feel for what each profession entail you'll know what you like and what you don't.

Anything you say or think right now is mere speculation. You and you're parents need to chill
