What do kinases do
1,3 BPG to 3PG is a reversible reaction depending on the energy state of the cell. Phosphoglycerate Kinase and similarly Pyruvate Kinase are named for the reverse reactions.
Kinases move phosphate groups.
Hexokinase/Glucokinase add a Phopshate to Glucose
Phosphofructokinase add a Phosphate to Fructose-6P
Phosphoglycerate Kinase adds a Phosphate to ADP (making ATP) from 1,3-BPG
Pyruvate Kinase adds a Phosphate to ADP (making ATP) from PEP
Hexokinase/Glucokinase add a Phopshate to Glucose
Phosphofructokinase add a Phosphate to Fructose-6P
Phosphoglycerate Kinase adds a Phosphate to ADP (making ATP) from 1,3-BPG
