Question says it all.
VCOM has a high acceptance rate because they screen out applicants presecondary invitation and I think it is a great school...They are the schools that I wouldn't be interested in attending.
What is their acceptance rate? And is there a resource where I can look at how many applicants applied and how many matriculated for all the do schools?KCUMB historically had a high acceptance rate, but I think that went down a lot. VCOM I wouldn't be surprised because of the population they're interested in attracting to their school.
Are you talking about acceptance rate post interview? About 75% of people that get an interview have been accepted in the past. I think they said it has gone down to about 60-65% since they increased their requirements for a secondary and interview. But by no means does KCUMB have the highest acceptance rate per applicant. They have some of the highest standards. You need a 3.25 science and cum and a 25 mcat to even get a secondaryKCUMB historically had a high acceptance rate, but I think that went down a lot. They accepted people this year with 24's. I think their requirements are too strict. Someone with 3.6/3.20/34 was rejected pre-secondary due to not meeting the 3.25 sgpa requirement, while someone with 3.4/3.3/25 managed an interview after barely meeting it.Are you talking about acceptance rate post interview? No idea about other schools. Maybe those with lower average class stats? If I had to guess I would probably say all the newer schools except Marian, and then throw in Lecom because their class size is really big.

I agree, but hey I got in to KCUMB so I'm not complaining : )This is ridiculous. I bet 3.6/3.20/34 can squeak into MD school if he applies broadly enough.

The average GPA falls between 3.5 and 3.6. Their MCAT average falls at 25 to 26 with a 4 in standard deviation. The DO world is not as easy as you may thinkYeah but iirc their average MCAT is like a 22. I don't doubt it's a good school, I called them because I was interested in applying from CA and they said my stats would need to be *significantly* better than average. They really emphasized the *significantly* so I didn't apply because I don't know what that means.

I don't think its easy. I didn't even hear back from a lot of schools I thought were "low tier". Either way, VCOM should be counting all apps in its numbers so idk why it would have a high accept rate...

Average acceptance is such an impossible stat to decipher. Totally depends on what your stats are, where you are from, and other demographics. Acceptance rate is not a good way to judge whether or not you have a good chance.
