Just curious what the MD applicant pool looks like compared to the crowd I see at the gym. Obviously not a scientific poll or anything, just share...either your one rep max or your 6-8 rep weight for everyday lifting.

Cheers!

Geez what? I can do like 6 reps of 155 benching comfortably...wow and I thought I would be relatively strong for a premed student (believing in the stereotypes of studying all the time)

Bench: 255lbs
Squat: 315lbs
Deadlift: 455lbs

I weigh 160lbs. Dieted last year for bodybuilding but didn't end up competing.

I have videos in facebook 😀

bout tree fiddy in each of the big three.

Female here:

(conversions from kilos to pounds)

Anyone here do CrossFit?

How does this thread not have some funny stuff posted? SDN fail.

My experience is the thread goes as the first few posts go. If the first 3 or 4 are legit responses the thread usually turns out ok. If we get LolCatz and Memes right off the bat there's no chance for recovery.

Still, I am surprised that a thread of this nature survived as long as it did.

Nothing quite like flexing those internet muscles... You guys rock👍(sarcastically roles eyes as flooded with memories of insecure high school jocks)

I haven't maxed in a longgg time. This transition/gap year has not been the best for my workout routine, either, but I've maintained.

1 RM Bench: Probably 250 right now, highest was 275.

I haven't maxed on squat since high school, and that was 315 then. Considering I can do 3x10 with 315 now I'm going to guess I'm some where around 430 for a 1 RM. I'll never know because it's not worth the possible injury at this point.

Not sure about deadlift. I use it in my routine, but I've never maxed.

So everyone who participated in this thread is considering ortho, right? :meanie:

Oh, and 6' 205.

I held the record for my high school for female squats at 300lb...thats the lift, not my weight  ..benched 130...don't remember my max at deadlifts but my mile was around 6:30...I think that gave me a scaled score of about a 33Q...they really do wear you out with deadlifts before the typically easy mile run 😉

300 lbs squat for a high school girl? holy ****.

In the summer when I went regularly...

Bench: 195 (max), 155 (8)
(I don't do squat and deadlift)

5'8'' 157lbs.

I'm going to start going regularly soon because I can't imagine doing 195 anymore...it gets so hard to max out when you don't go for like a month and a half and go sporadically without any sort of schedule.

5'8, 150

bench: 180x6
atg Squat: 230x6
Deadlift 280x6

in b4 do u even lift

What type of routines do you guys do? I just started layne norton's power hypertrophy, and it's been amazing so far, but damn pretty high intensity!

5'8 - 205lbs

Max Lifts:
Bench: 305lbs (315 is like an unbreakable barrier...)
Squat: 475lbs
Deadlift: 555lbs (inches from 575 about a month ago!)

6'2, 230lbs.

Bench- 375
Squat- 460
Deadlift- 575

edit after reading thread: there a definitely some liars up in here.

My max bench was 350... or 325... [something like that] half a decade ago.

I can only assume that it is exponentially lower now as these days I only push electrons instead of teh iron.

I don't mean to sound mysogynistic, but these are pretty impressive stats 👍

The last time I asked a female friend if she wanted to press just the barbell, I got a wtf look

Bench: 165 (i only do dumbbell bench now)
Squatz: 225
Deadlift: 200

5'9", 158lb

Getting back into lifting hard after cutting w/ p90x. Dropped a lot of weight on the deadlift =(

Surprised this hasn't been brought up yet, but does everyone hope to continue hitting the gym in med school? I do for sure... starting to tailor my workouts now to fit the future schedule better. I've got my lifts down to 2 day splits w/ 2 days of HIIT
